DVDs from Easteligh Railway Preservation Society

  • ERPS member Brian Southon has released a second 2 disk DVD titled "Southon Steam Part 2". Disk 1 features E828 around the south including footage at Southampton Docks and the Swanage Railway. The DVD also includes video from other various southern locos on preserved railways and the national network. Locos featured include 31625, 73096 and 30926 to name but three.

    The 2nd disc shows the restoration story of 850 Lord Nelson on its return to Eastleigh after numerous years of storage at Carnforth. Various stages of the restoration are shown including exclusive footage from boiler smiths Pridhams. Video can also be seen from inside Eastleigh works where Lord Nelson was moved to in the latter stages of her restoration. After restoration was completed, HRH Princess Anne came to Eastleigh to unveil Lord Nelson to some specially invited guests and she was introduced to the restoration team. Lord Nelson is then seen hauling trains on the West Somerset Railway and then on the mainline.

    This quality 2 disc DVD is available to members of ERPS for £12 (please include ERPS membership number) and to non members for £15, again postage is included in the fee. Cheques should be made payable to ERPS and sent to the following address:

  • ERPS member Brian Southon has also released a DVD featuring 34067 'Tangmere' on the mainline in the south and 850 'Lord Nelson' on the West Somerset Railway. This acclaimed DVD includes some rare and unusual footage. Some of Brians footage on this DVD of Lord Nelson has been used on BBC South Today News.
    Brians DVD costs £10 to Non ERPS members and £8 to ERPS members (please include ERPS membership number), postage is included in the fee.

  • Brian has raised over £10,000 during the restoration of Lord Nelson so please support him in this next venture in raising more funds for 850 'Lord Nelson' and E828 'Harry A Frith'.

  • Steam Age Pictures are pleased to announce that "The Hero's Return", their DVD of Lord Nelson at work, is now ready.

    It starts with 850's departure from Eastleigh on 16th Aug 2006 and ends with her last railtour (for the time being), to Weymouth, on 15th Aug 2007. Also included are sequences of her on the West Somerset Railway, East Lancs Railway, Didcot, her test run in the North West and 7 other mainline tours. Running time is 63 minutes.
